For these days the chorus has been listened in television “Dance, dance, brown lady, down this full moon, under the moonlight”. Those who could have listened to it surely will recognize the lyrics of the song Baila Morena that the Italian musician Zucchero made popular some years ago.
This isn’t happening by chance. The popular artist has come to Cuba to take part in the 15th Week of the Italian Culture, which will be held from November 26 through December 2. At the same time, he will make the most of the opportunity to present in a big spectacle his most recent record production that goes by name “The Cuban meeting”.
A dream come true
When on December 8 Zucchero begins to sing the songs of his new disc The Cuban meeting and others of his repertoire in the grounds of the complex of Schools of Art of Cubanacán, to the west of the Cuban capital, he will make a long time caressed dream come true.
And the fact is that for some time the Italian artist has wanted to come to share his music with the youngest generation of the island, those who perhaps don’t fully know everything of his artistic career. That’s why the concert is foreseen to last over two hours.
At the same time he will be able to share the scene with Cuban musicians that hehas always admired as Omara Portuondo, Chucho Valdés and the Van Van orchestra.
For the occasion Zucchero there will sing along with his band and the Cuban invited musicians ballads and dancing songs included in The Cuban meeting, among which stands out the popular Guantanamera, as well as Sabor a ti, Cuba libre, Nena and Baila. This is a sample of successes of his repertoire, presented now with new arrangements, along with versions and unpublished songs.
As Cuban and Italian media outlets report that this show will be broadcasted by the Italian television during Christmas.
