The SARS-CoV-2 virus has added one death in Cuba while the new infections rose to 71, although 29 of the patients reported today correspond to imported cases.
The deceased is a 69-year-old Cuban who arrived in the country on November 15. In the report issued by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) the origin is not specified; details of his evolution are offered, in addition to indicating the place of residence: Jovellanos municipality, Matanzas.
Of the total number of cases, 40 were contacts of confirmed cases, 29 had the source of infection abroad and in two individuals the origin of the contagion is not specified, according to the MINSAP
Havana once again reports autochthonous infections, although Pinar del Río continues to identify most of the daily cases with local origin.
The only foreigners reported by the island’s health authorities are located in Ciego de Ávila: five Russians. The figure is added to the group of tourists that has already been reported in this information, despite the fact that the authorities do not offer details about their circumstance.
The location by territories of the new infections is as follows:
Pinar del Río: 20 cases, three imported.
Havana: 10 cases, eight imported.
Matanzas: six cases, three imported.
Cienfuegos: six cases, two imported.
Villa Clara province: 10 cases.
Sancti Spíritus: one case.
Ciego de Ávila: six cases, five imported.
Camagüey: seven cases, six imported.
Santiago de Cuba: four cases, one imported.
Isla de la Juventud: one imported case.
During the day, 7,091 samples were processed to detect COVID-19 and 72 people were discharged, with which there are already 7,428 recovered patients.
Three patients were in intensive care: one in critical condition and two in serious condition.
