After processing 20,578 samples, the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) detected 873 infections from the SARS-CoV-2 virus this Sunday, on which two deaths were also reported.
With these deaths, two Havanans aged 88 and 79, the coronavirus pandemic has left 350 victims on the island, where the death rate is 0.62%.
Most of the infections are due to autochthonous transmission while 22 were imported cases, mostly by travelers arriving from Panama and Russia. 10 foreigners were also diagnosed with COVID-19.

Among the territories with the highest infections, Havana remains in the lead with 362, followed by Granma (94), Mayabeque (67), Pinar del Río (64) and Santiago de Cuba (53). In contrast, Las Tunas and Cienfuegos reported the lowest numbers, with five and three positive cases, respectively.
Because of these numbers, the capital maintains holds first place in terms of incidence rate: nine of its municipalities make up the group of twelve with 43% of the transmission in the last 15 days. The peculiarity in this is that Melena del Sur, in Mayabeque, has risen to the first among the territories with the highest transmission, surpassing Old Havana with an index of 217 per 100,000 inhabitants.

In the group under 20 years old, 131 patients were identified yesterday, 103 of them in pediatric ages. Six have not reached one year of age. The rest of the statistics are as follows: 308 between 20 and 39 years old; 302 between 40 and 59, and 132 over 60.
With the 930 discharges reported in the last 24 hours, 51,704 people have already recovered from the disease in almost a year in Cuba.
Until midnight, the number of admissions remained high, with a record of 23,583. Active confirmed cases totaled 4,351 and 69 patients were reported in intensive care, 29 in critical condition and 40 in serious condition.
