The tenth edition of the International Construction fair (Fecons) will take place in the middle of an interesting scenario for the Cuban economy.
The fact is this Fair and its sector is linked to the new Law on Foreign Investment. As it has been the practice in previous years, already available spaces are taken. This is the most sought for specialized exhibition event on the island and enjoys great prestige in Latin America and Europe.
Entrepreneurs, builders, planners, investors and producers of domestic materials and from 22 nations of America, Europe and China have confirmed their attendance to the biennial meeting, where new products and technologies will be exhibited, for a sphere that defines de GDP of any country.
Fecons will run from April 8th through the 12th at the PABEXPO showground, belonging to the Havana’s Conventions Center and its organizers aim again at promoting the exchange of specialists and generate the signature of contracts and other document related to business management.
The important thing is that Cuba will have again possibilities to access techniques and state-of-art equipments in the field of construction.
Repeatedly, the organizers of the fair have recognized that its annual editions from 1998-2003 were the way in which Cuba learnt of and brought in 90 % of the equipment and the new resources acquired to absorb the growing constructive program .
This dynamic should grow from the adoption and enforcement of the Law on Foreign Investment, which intends to provide incentives and thus ensure the attraction of foreign capital, under the principle of protecting and rationally using human and natural resources.
And that’s just one of the features that mark the exhibition, in which firms that have accompanied the efforts and results of Cuba in the past 15 years and other debutantes will be encouraged to enter a market with growth in areas specific, need of know-how and preferential prices.
As branch steadily rising, it needs elements to ensure efficiency and overall effectiveness. This means equipment, parts, products and materials that enable time saving and quality of work. It is synonymous with the best to do for this sector in Cuba, which has the challenge of continuing to build tens of works directed to replace imports or generate exportable funds, industrial and touristic branches, as well as strengthen the infrastructure for the construction of buildings and rehabilitate the housing stock.
Representatives from Germany, Argentina , Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia , Costa Rica , Cuba , Chile , China, Spain , France, UK Virgin Islands , Italy, Liechtenstein , Mexico , Panama , Russia , Sweden and Venezuela will be in Fecons agai , and for the first time Portugal and Switzerland will have theirs in Havana.
In parallel and in addition to the exhibition, they will hold at the Habana Riviera hotel, the X International Scientific Technical Conference on Construction, which facilitate the exchange of information and experiences, which no doubt will contribute to stimulate the work of researchers and specialists , in areas such as housing, local alternative materials , recycling of raw materials, ready mix and precast concrete and asphalt mixtures .
