cars in Cuba

Havana´s stationary cars

What can we say about cars in Cuba? ... One day I heard that the island has the world's oldest car fleet; I wouldn’t know for certain but it is likely true. It is also likely to be the country where cars have more life, "because to the most expensive cars in the world we have to squeeze them!" In an attempt to keep rolling, many stop looking like a car. A car in Cuba is a true gem, a magnificent heritage that reproduces in time and changes ownership again and again. How many stories are trapped in a car that has been inherited, bought or sold many times? How many romances, tragedies, joys and memories are hidden inside? However, life ends even for Cuban cars, and then those stories stop. The cars are stationary and are evidence of what they were once, and then a different decoration appears on the streets of the city.
