A 3.8 magnitude earthquake was located at 3:43 am this Thursday, April 8, by the Network of Stations of the Cuban National Seismological Service.
According to the report of the National Center for Seismological Research (CENAIS), it was perceived in the city of Ciego de Ávila and the towns of Venezuela, Baraguá, Gaspar, and Majagua, in the province of Ciego de Ávila, and in Florida, Camagüey.
The earthquake was located 34 km south of the city of Ciego de Ávila, capital of the province of the same name, at 21.52 degrees north latitude and -78.72 degrees west longitude, with a depth of 1.5 km.
It is the third perceptible earthquake in 2021, according to the CENAIS. No material or human damage was reported.
