Cuba reported eight new COVID-19 positive cases, and adds another consecutive day without deaths, Dr. Francisco Durán, director of epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), reported this Saturday.
Havana registered all patients diagnosed with the disease on its first day of de-escalation, thus in the last 15 days it has had a total of 55 confirmed coronavirus cases, with which the Cuban capital’s rate of incidence is 2.58 patients per 100,000 inhabitants.

A total of 54 persons remain hospitalized on the island, two of which are reported seriously ill. No critically ill patients are reported, according to the daily report of the MINSAP on the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic in Cuba.
Four of the cases reported from the Friday report were asymptomatic, and 76 people are in isolation centers under suspicion.
In his usual press conference, Durán pointed out that in the new post-COVID-19 recovery scenario that reached its second phase in most of the Cuban provinces with the exception of Havana and Matanzas, “it is when the protection measures have to be maximized, because we are already on the street, we return to activity and the risk increases.”
On Friday 2,635 tests were made, thus the island has processed a total of 180,697 tests, of which 2,369 have been positive (1.3%).
Since the health crisis caused by the pandemic in Cuba began, 2,227 patients have recovered from the disease. For days the number of deaths from COVID-19 has remained at 86.
